CNC SIG (CNC = Computer Numerical Control)

The Guild’s CNC Special Interest Group (SIG) meets on the 4th Wednesday of the Month at 6:30 pm.

The Guild’s Legacy CNC will take a 24″ x 24″ board.

See a YouTube video of Gary Mielke discussing the CNC Router at the Guild HERE.

Here is a short tutorial on how to make a CNC sign or carve the top of a box: CNC_Tutorial

The Guild uses Aspire as the CAD CAM software to design lettering, objects, etc and generate the G-code that drives the CNC machine. If you want to learn Aspire, click HERE for our specific tutorial or see Aspitr’s excellent tutorials and videos available on their web site.¬†

They also have a trial version of the program that you can download and use on your home computer. The trial version will not allow you to save files. You cannot build a project at home and then bring it to run at the guild.
